  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred, but a great attitude and willingness to learn go a long way.
  • Prior experience in packaging, manufacturing, or a warehouse environment is a plus—but we’re happy to train motivated individuals ready to contribute.
  • Ability to lift and move products (up to 50 lbs.) and remain on your feet for extended periods while working efficiently and safely.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Packaging & Warehouse Manager to lead and optimize our packaging and warehouse operations. This role is critical to ensuring the seamless flow of products from production to delivery, maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency. Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, the Packaging & Warehouse Manager will oversee the day-to-day activities of the packaging and warehouse staff, manage inventory, and contribute to the smooth operation of the overall workflow.

As a Vinyl Press Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our vinyl pressing equipment to ensure the production of high-quality records that meet exacting industry standards. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, keen attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot issues in a fast-paced production environment. You’ll play a critical part in optimizing efficiency, maintaining quality, and supporting overall press operations.

 

As a key part of the Paramount team, you’ll help ensure that every product leaving our facility meets the highest standards of craftsmanship and care. Your day-to-day will include:

 

  • Operate and monitor vinyl pressing machines, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Inspect records for defects such as warping, non-fill, oil spots, scratches, and excess flash.
  • Pull and hang stampers, align molds, and ensure proper pressing conditions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues to minimize waste and downtime.
  • Perform routine maintenance on pressing equipment, including cleaning molds and adjusting settings for optimal performance.
  • Check materials and alignment, including grain direction, correct pagination, and positioning against specifications.
  • Ensure proper coating application where necessary.
  • Set up and run the feeder, or assist Feeder Tender as needed.
  • Complete production documentation, ensuring all press logs and quality checklists are accurately maintained.
  • Work collaboratively with press crews and other departments to meet production targets.
  • Follow strict safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace.

To thrive as a Press Operator at Paramount, you’ll bring a mix of skills, flexibility, and a passion for quality. Here's what we’re looking for:

  • Minimum of 3 years of press operation experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • AAS in a related technical field is a plus.
  • First Press Operator Certification preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and adjust machinery is a must.
  • Demonstrated understanding of pressing mechanics, including stamper installation and mold alignment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control.
  • Basic math skills and ability to follow production specifications.
  • Ability to operate computer-based technology for press monitoring and adjustments.
  • Familiarity with measurement tools such as densitometers and their functions (density, print contrast, hue, etc.) is a plus.
  • Experience with Pheenix Alpha machines is a plus.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a high-temperature production environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting and collaborate effectively with a team.

Summary/Objective:

It is the responsibility of the 2nd Press Operator to optimize the profitability of the Company by performing to the highest level of efficiency in the following task categories: maintaining constant quality, make readies, maintenance of equipment and the management of their respective press crew. Essential Functions:

  • Familiarity of a densitometer and its functions. (Density, dot gain, print contrast and hue).
  • Pull and hang plates pull job in register.
  • Cut coating blanket.
  • Checks grain direction.
  • Lines up sheet checking for size, straightness, correct pagination, bleed requirements, position of sheet to the HP screen, die vinyl or grain direction. (40-inch Presses)
  • Checks to be sure proper coating is used.
  • When needed sets up and runs feeder or assists Feeder Tender.
  • Watches both sides of sheet for defects (scratches picks water, oil spots, draws, cracks, smashes, missed side guide etc.).
  • Make sure the Press checklist is fill out and placed on the last load.
  • Review and sign off on all fanned out sheets.
